The 2024 Pride Bundle

We’re delighted that The Deep and Shining Dark by Juliet Kemp (Book 1 of the Marek series) has been selected for the 2024 Pride Bundle curated by Catherine Lundoff and Melissa Scott. They write:

It’s Pride again, and time for another queer-themed bundle to celebrate the community. Once again, the hardest part has been narrowing down the field: there are so many writers out there creating intelligent, nuanced, queer SF/F that it’s incredibly hard to choose among them.

Because it’s Pride, though, we looked for books that show queerness in all its complexity, with stories that range from pure adventure to profoundly serious. What you won’t find is stories where queerness is purely a doomed and tragic fate, or ones in which it is purely evil. These are stories that showcase the many and complex forms that queerness takes — the many ways that we have chosen to be.

This is by no means a definitive LGBTQIA+ collection — I’m not sure such a thing is even possible any more, given the ever-growing amount of stellar queer writing being published now. Instead, think of this as a sampler, or a tasting menu. The bundle includes novels, novellas, and anthologies; the genres range from historical fantasy to cyberpunk to post apocalyptic SF. You’ll find newer writers and works, and some older work you may have missed when they first appeared. It’s a chance to sample stories by some of the best writers working today.
StoryBundle has always allowed its patrons to donate part of their payment to a related charity, and this year we’re again supporting Rainbow Railroad, a NGO helping LGBT+ people escape state-sponsored persecution and violence worldwide. Their work is desperately needed, and if you choose, you can pass part of the bundle’s price to them — a gift that can save a life.

For StoryBundle, you decide what price you want to pay. For $5 (or more, if you’re feeling generous), you’ll get the basic bundle of four books in .epub format—WORLDWIDE.
